Tiger Myrtle - Acoustic Guitar Back and Side Sets
Tasmanian “Tiger” Myrtle (Nothofagus cunninghamii) is an extremely rare wood found in Southeast Australia and New Zealand. The heartwood ranges from light pink to reddish brown with dark black streaks which produce a figure reminiscent of stripes on a tiger or a dot-like figure similar to what is seen on a leopard. It is a dense wood with a very fine, even texture and works well with either machine or hand tools.
Tiger Myrtle produces an array of complex tones from the responsiveness of rosewood to the mid range of mahogany. It is snappy with plenty of punch.
